Newspaper …
Did you see Laura Raines’ article, “Spotlight On …Tucker” in The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Sunday, September 11, 2005 edition? The
article mentions: “Atlanta real estate watchers have predicted that
Tucker could become the next Brookhaven or Decatur, and the real estate
market in the area has been steadily heating up" ... "Civic groups watch
zoning carefully as land around Tucker and Clarkston is a hot commodity.
Small, upscale neighborhoods and townhouses that appeal to young
professionals, families and empty nesters are beginning to rise, and most
sell quickly."
Note:
Paul and I attended the
Tucker Civic Association “Protecting Tucker’s Future” community
meeting on September 22nd. We found it to be a very
informative meeting with members presenting their study findings on the
following topics: incorporation, urban development regulations, livable
center initiatives, tax allocation districts, community foundations,
community improvement districts, and land trust. During and after the
meeting, attendees were invited to ask questions and indicate their
interest in these issues for planning the future direction of Tucker.
Future public meetings are planned by TCA and in conjunction with other
community groups.
Neighborhood Watch Notes
Good News … I’ve received no reports of any crime/safety
issues occurring in the neighborhoods along Henderson Road. On the
hendersonroad.com welcome page, the alert to “keep
your vehicles locked overnight” is an ongoing, friendly reminder. In
recent weeks, neighborhoods off Evans/Henderson Mill, LaVista/Midvale
Roads have reported cars entered and rummaged through. In one case, there
was an armed attempt to steal a car from a homeowner’s driveway. Another
incident involved the attempt to break in a house. Police were
contacted. Please be watchful of your surroundings and report any
suspicious activity.
